My Thoughts on the 46th President of the United States

In the United States, there was a changing of commanders-in-chief. Donald left early to go to Florida where he will be residing soon. And being a poor loser right up to the end. He is the only second president that has not attended the inauguration of the new president.

What the world recognized and witnessed was a mob orchestrated by Donald to overtake and occupy the state capital. If this had been any other country with a democratic system, we would be speechless. Nevertheless, it being the United States it is like saying one of the pillars of democracy being overtaken before your eyes. I can say without any hesitation that Donald will be getting off lightly if he is only impeached twice. I think when you try to overthrow the government and you fail – it is treason.

Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States, is going to have his hands full light after the inauguration. The greater part of Washington DC is fortified by 7-foot barriers and over 20,000 armed guards. I have had the misfortune or fortune, whichever you wish to lay upon me, of being in countries where their capitals have been overtaken. It usually ends in a standoff of violence. If anybody can unite a country full of hate for his fellow American, Joe Biden is going to have to be the man for the job.

Another pressing issue of Joe’s first day as president is the pandemic of the COVID-19 virus. It has begun mutating into three new strains from three different countries. These new variants of the virus are already being found in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Over 400,000 Americans have died from this virus. Joe Biden has promised in the first hundred days of his administration hundred thousand people will be vaccinated. I believe he can do this.

One of the advantages that Joe Biden has coming into the White House now is that that he has Democrats with the majority in both houses. If ever a country can pass sweeping legislation to put the country back on course this will be the moment. In closing, I would like to quote another president. Abraham Lincoln said that a house divided will not stand. The very word united states says it all united.
