Hey, Neighbours!

I would like to thank all my neighbours in the province of B.C. for the job we are doing to control this terrible pandemic. We are not only the talk of Canada but also the world, on how we are handling this virus. I wish to thank each and every one of you for doing your job to help the rest of us stay healthy.

I am incredibly grateful to live in the Collingwood area. Both my wife and I are retired, and, in the evenings, we take her dog for a walk. Without exception, when another person is coming in the opposite direction to us, once they get close, they move over to the road from the sidewalk. I always thank them very much.

The grocery stores where I buy my groceries are very conscientious of their staff and their customers. They have directions in which way we are to travel up and down the aisles and a well-marked spacing accordingly. All the checkouts are being monitored by the 6-foot distance. My bank is also participating in making sure that both their staff and their customers are being looked after properly. The big box stores that I have shopped in are doing a remarkable job. In many cases, we must cue outside as they monitor how many people have entered the store, and once other customers have left, more of us waiting are welcomed to come in.

I sincerely believe that we Canadians believe in science and when scientists and medical professions set out rules to protect ourselves as well as others, we not only listen – we follow their advice. I am once again incredibly grateful to live where I am, in the Collingwood area and with the people that live there.
